Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child visitation modification

My 16 year old step-daughter lives in Ashville Alabama with her dad and me. She has complained for the last couple of years about flying down to Orlando Fl to visit her mom. Now, she has told her mother several times that she's not coming. Her mother will not just let it go. What do we need to do to modify visitation? How much would it cost? Is it possible to do it on our own without an attorney?

Re: Child visitation modification

First, why does she not want to visit her mother? If the mother has visitation rights, how has she been exercising them these last couple of years? Maybe her mother will institute some action herself to get visitation and then you can go in and try to get a modification. Could do that without a lawyer, but I would hesitate. Go back to your lawyer from the divorce.

A child does not want to see her mother; not a good thing unless the mother committed some egregious acts against the child.
