Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I Had a child when I was 19years old and the girl was 15. She had the child I signed the birth certificate and took care of the child for the first year of her life. The mother of the child up and moved out of the blue with her 7 hours away after that year and got married. She filed for child support ,she has not and will not allow me to see my child. I am not sure if paternity was tested because I signed the birth certificate when she was born. The child is now 11years old, the mother of the child refuses to let me see or talk to my child . I have seen my child maybe 5 times for about 3days, being the longest . She refuses to even let me talk to her on the phone and has for the entire 10 years. She has even told my child that I am not her father anymore. This was told to my mother by the child. About a year and a half ago while she was down here for about a day to try and get money from my family. I continue to pay child support for a child who doesn’t even know me , and I cannot see or talk to at all. What are my legal rights, and was she allowed to take the child and move without any consent or court order saying she could ? How do I temporarily stop child support while the stuation is taken care of? how can I make her let me see my child?

File a Petition for Paternity - if you are proved not to be the father then ask for the return of the child support.
If you are the father, then file for Custody, Visitation and Child support.
