Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Do the children have a say

I am a divorced father with two son's one is 11 the other 12. They have both voiced their desire to live with me. When this was discussed with their mother she got really defensive and told the boys no and has basically cut off communication with me. My sons are not happy were they are and I can see no reason why they shouldnt be allowed.

My question is this, Will their request and or opinion be heard and could it have any effect on the judge's ruling.

My ex wife says ''Their children and have no say.'' Is this the laws standing also?

Re: Do the children have a say

At that young age the court will probably not let them testify however you may ask the court to have them examined by a socialworker or psychologist who may testify as to her findings.
