how old do children have to be to make their own decisions in court in the state of florida?

Children are not allowed to make their own decisions - the Judge in Duval County (Judge Gooding) from what has been stated, will listen to the views of a child at the age of 10. HOwever, the court looks to the best interest of the child not necessarily what the child thinks is the best interest.
