Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

The children's father has been paying the court ordered child support from our divorce since 03/09. I was unaware that he has had a substantial (almost triple) salary increase until now, and I am filing for cs modification. Can this modification be made retroactive? The difference is approximately $500/month.
