Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I want to try and have my children's father terminate his parental rights. He has not been apart of their lives for over 4 years, nor has he sent any child support. What forms would he need to fill out in order to do this?

You fill out the forms primarily, and this can only be done if you are married and your new husband is willing to adopt. He can't terminate his rights and leave your children fatherless. There must be a new father to adopt. If this is true, you and your husband must complete the Petition for Step-Parent Adoption and related paperwork at www.flcourts.org. The biological father must complete the Consent to Termination of Parental Rights form and some other forms explained on the site. All of the forms are complex, and you should get a lawyer to assist you.
