Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Chils support payments

The non custodial parent has petitioned for a modification of an order of UIFSA. He did not work for several months and requests that the arrears owed be lowered to compensate. Since the petition; the support payments have stopped. Are his payments no longer enforced by child support ? Non custodial parents assures me that his payments have continued to be removed from his paychecks. What is going on?

Re: Chils support payments

He may have the c.s. abated while out of work. But...it still accrues so it just doesn't disappear. He should be paying regularly what the original support order said, but also an amount to catch up the arrearages. Go to the child support enforcement people and get it straightened out.
