Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Chulid custody, courts rights?

I am in the middle of a ustody battle with my ex. However I am also suffering from some helth problems. Is he allowed to get my medical records for court, such as MRI'S, Dr.s visit notes, etc? Is it possible that I would be required to produce them?

Re: Chulid custody, courts rights?

Short answer....YES!

Generally speaking the court can review any information which may be relevant to the fitness of a parent. If the court feels that your medical information is relevant then they will require you to produce the information. You can ask the court to review the records "in camera" which may prevent your ex and his attorney from being able to review them.

If you are not represented by counsel, you should ask the judge for the in camera inspection of the records. If you are not represented you should seriously consider hiring an attorney for these proceedings. You did not provide a zip code, but if you would like to call my office for more information, please do not hesitate. Initial consultations are free.
