OK. Just to clarify my previously asked question...Can a husband drop his wifes health insurance that is provided by his employer when the couple separates... your answer is "yes."..so, a husband IS NOT LEGALLY REQUIRED to maintain health coverage for his wife upon separation?

Correct. A husband is not legally required to maintain health insurance on his wife while they are separated, even if provided by his employer.
