Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

common law marriage

my husaband and I have been together for over 22 years. We started out living together in Ga. then moved to Fl. through out these years we have lived in both states for 5-6 months out of the year. At this point we are considering separting/divorcing what would be best for us to do? Is our common law marriage reconized in Fl. since we split our time in both states. Also, we have 3 children 1 of which is 15. We have always called eachother husband/wife from the begining. Have never filed taxes together. I have used his last name on my childrensschool records as well as other times. Everyone know's use as being married and we did intend to marry, just never did it. Please advise.

Re: common law marriage

Florida has no common law marriage. If it is valid in Georgia, Florida will recognize it.
