What compels me to give a Deposition

The attorney for my soon to be x wife sent me a letter to be present for a deposition hearing. I am not represented by a lawyer, must I comply. What compels me to have to give a deposition?

Re: What compels me to give a Deposition

Simply put....Florida law. You are compelled by the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure to respond to all reasonable requests for discovery including a deposition. If you fail to appear, you may be sanctioned by the Court which may include the payment of attorneys' fees for your spouse's lawyer and/or the striking of your pleading.
