Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

How to complete ''Answer to Petition for Modification''

I was served with a Petition for modification of custody and visitation. I have the form to complete the answer, but am not sure how to complete it. Do I just say I don't agree or do I have to list details on this form (or do the details come out in court?). Since he's behind in paying support, I cannot afford an attorney, but this is the most important thing I've ever done and I want to get it right!

That is a very important legal document. It will affect all the litigation in your case. You should seriously consider consulting an attorney despite your financial situation.

You can agree to sections/subsections such as the name of the kid(s), address, etc. However, anything else, deny. You can set out a range of sections such at: sections 2a-2d are denied. Or sections B-F are denied. This will automatically make the petition contested.

I believe 33305 is Broward County. The main courthouse has a selfhelp center. See if they have staff attorneys or paralegals like we do in Palm Beach to help you fill out the answer. You can check on the web. It's the 17th Circuit court.
