Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Confused..
I moved to MI in hopes that I would provide a better home for my son when he got out of boot camp. When he got out, he refused to come to MI, my husband who was living in Florida, stepped in and allowed my son to live with him (not my sons father). My son's father was sending his cs faithfully every month. I in turn would send my husband the check every month to help out with the support. My sons father knew this and was ok with it. My son was 16 at the time. I gave my husband guardianship. Then my son decided he was going to live with a friend of his on the beach so he could go to school there. I let him stay there and sent money and clothes down to him. Everything I have kept proof of. My son's father stopped paying support when my son turned 17, I thought because my son was out of the house. But recently I recieved a check for 519 of owed support. I emailed my sons father to let him know and he said, that if they come after him, he will tell them our son has not had a guardian since he was 16 (not true) or been in the house. I tried severel times to get my son to come home and he refused to move up to MI, his father did nothing, can I be liable for back support to my son's father?

Re: Confused..
Your son's father could sue you for the support he's paid during the time your son was not living with you.
