Consent to Discharge

My rich uncle who lives in Florida recently died and his children who live in Maryland had my mom sign a form entitled ''Consent to Discharge'' does this have anything to do with someone trying to get you to give up your right to some sort of inheritance

yes- If you mom agrees this she gets ?.
