Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Contesting Original Divorce Decree

My ex-husband and his attorney are hauling me and my attorney back to court, contesting the original divorce decree, asking to change the original ruling that ordered the marital home to me. I do not have the money to pay my attorney to go back to court again. Will the new judge be taking into evidence new information, such that could be provided by an attoryney, or is this simply--name removed--review of existing testimony, and maybe an attorney is not required?

Re: Contesting Original Divorce Decree

It would be smart to be represented, especially if the other party is. If you truly do not have the ability to pay for an attorney and your ex-spouse does, the court will award attorney's fees to you (have the ex-spouse pay reasonable attorney's fees and costs).
