If a couple are not married but do live together and have concieved a child during that time and the child has the fathers last name does the mother have to file for full custody of that child upon seperation?

Each party would normally be entitled to shared parental responsibilities, whether married or not. Therefore, if you are looking to exclude the father in any way, then yes, you would have to file a court action to try to achieve that goal.
