Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Getting court to inforce my rights

I have not seen my kids in 3 years, so I filed a PRO SE motion of contempt as well as suplemental petitions of custody and support as my oldest child has turned 18 as of dec. 06,because I cant afford an attorney. I went before a General Magistrate on the 22 of feb 07, the General Magistrate said that he could not here my case because the presiding Judge had not signed an order of referral. On the 27 of feb 07 I recieved a letter from the General Magistrates office explaining everything that took place on the 22nd and in the same invelope was a letter of referral signed by the judge but it gives me no court date, So what do I do how do I proceed????? MY ex's lawyer is trying to stop me by claiming I do not have my ex's permision to take her to court. YES! I have her legal paper's stating that very reason, So no Im not coocoo for cocco puffs.

Re: Getting court to inforce my rights

You can't do anything about the 18 year old. He or she can now decide who he or she wants or doesn't want to see.

As for the hearing, just get in touch with the division in which you are to appear to see what procedure they want you to follow. You will probably simply have to set a time for your hearing with the judicial assistant. Call the magistrate's office.
