Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Why do the court systems believe that you are able to play child support when, if you miss a payment they suspend your drivers license and business license you may have, then go as far as to have the person arrested. how can i continue to work, or find a job from jail? Does it make sense to punish people for circumstances that are often beyond their control. Especially when the only solution is money? The states idea of fair is to require more money out of someone that already cannot afford a payment. then they take away the ability to find new employment (by way of transport) or make business for them self. How can we change this circular thinking?

Stop having children you can not support.

Well, that is one approach. Another approach could be to petition the court to modify your child support order. You would have to prove that you are not employed or underemployed through no fault of your own. This means that you have documented efforts to find employment, improve your skills through education or additional training, as well as reduced your standard of living in order to attempt to provide for your children through the child support order. Remember that child support has nothing to do with spending time with your child or visitation. Please continue to maintain a healthy parent/child relationship with your child as that is the most important thing for his or her emotional development. Good luck.
