Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Court Transcript

My attorney is trying to charge me $500 in order for her to obtain the Court Transcript of my Divorce hearing so we can file an objection. The hearing lasted for less than one day. Is this reasonable?

Re: Court Transcript

You could contact the court reporter to ask what they are charging but it sounds about right. Court Reporters can be expensive.

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Probably. Transcripts are very expensive. Your attorney should only charge the same fee that the attorney had to pay to obtain the transcript. You can ask to see a copy of the bill from the court reporter but it sounds as if the fee was normal.
