Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My cousin is a US citizen. He is in jail in Texas for being involved with the drug cartel from Mexico. His wife (a Mexican citizen) and their EIGHT children are living at my father's home in Mexico. The wife wants to give up custody of all children for fear of retaliation from the drug cartel. Six of the children are US citizens the youngest two were born in Mexico. The father would like our family to care for the children. Ofcourse we can not take all eight children. So we would like to care for them between a couple of my siblings. How do we go about gaining some type of custody? Would the youngest children who are of Mexican citizenship be able to come to the states? Any advise would be appreciated.

Latangie Williams Law Office of Latangie Williams, P.A.

You (and your family) can petition for temporary or permanent custody arrangements. As far as the younger children, your brother can petition for them to obtain US citizenship (depending on the circumstances). The good thing is that I practice family and immigration law so I can help you accomplish everything. However, I need more information in order to advise you best. For assistance and a free consultation, please contact my office at 1-800-408-5818 or 904-371-3538.
