Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I am the custodial parent of two children ages 8 and 10 in Florida. Recently I received a ruling in my favor for my ex-husband to be limited to supervised visitation. The petition was filed because of abusive behavior on his part towards our children during their weekend visits, these were usually the result of his over indulgence of alcohol. After the abuse had gone on for some time the children finally told me of it and that they were told to keep it a secret. We went to their counselor to have the abuse documented. All decisions in regards to visitation are now subject to my approval and requests to see the children must be given 5 days in advance. Tonight my ex-husband, with the assistance of my mother, met with the children without my knowledge. My husband and I were packing some belongings being moved from my mother's house. While taking some garbage out, the children were called into her office, a building separate from the house, the door was locked behind them, after some time when the children asked to leave my mother asked my ex-husband if he wished to allow them to leave. He stated "not yet" the children were then told not to tell me of the forced visit. What can be done about this violation of the visitation order? My children were scared and very upset over this incident

Keep your children away from your mother. IF she wants to see them she will have to come to your house. Unfortunately, this was her house and she may have whom she wants to visits, he will just say he did not know they were going to be there and obviously she will back him up. Lesson learned, just move on and keep a record of the date and time this occurred for future reference.
