Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Custody ofsiblings.
I just found out that I have a brother and sister by my father and his ex wife. My father is a sex offender and their mother is also a felon. Their grandfather has custody of them now but he is wanting me to get custody of them. They live in Florida and I live in Arizona. I want very badly to have custody but dont know if I need a lawyer or if we can do anything without having to battle it out in court. It is in the best interest of the kids to not have to go thru court. What do I do. Their Grandfather is old and s having problems taking care of them and wants me to take them, can he just sign custody over to me and if so how do we go about doing it.

Re: Custody ofsiblings.
No, there is no way for the grandfather to simply "sign custody" over to you. That can only be done through a court order. Probably, you'll need an adoption. There are ways to obtain guardianship of them under Florida law, but I don't think that's what you want, based on what you've said.
You should certainly speak with a Florida lawyer as soon as possible.
