Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
custody
If people share children in common but were never married, what are the rights of both parents? There is an existing court order for child support on one child but payment is not current. I am looking to get full custody of both children due to his extensive criminal background - what steps do I need to take?

Re: custody
You need to have the child support order enforced. There are many ways to do this, including contempt.
As for custody, it depends on whether you already have a court order. If you do not, simply petition for custody. If you do, petition for modification.
