custody

my son's father is a registered sex offender who he has not had contact with since he was two almost three he is almost eight now his father wants to write and talk to him my does not. can i legally keep him from being able to write or talk to him. i also have full custody of my son. his father is in a physicatric hospital.

If by "full custody," you mean you have "sole custody," then, yes, you may lawfully deny his request for contact. Otherwise, you should have a lawyer look at your agreement or judgment before you deny him contact. You don't want to make a mistake with something so important.
