Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Custody/child dependency

My daughters father tried to choke me to death while my daughter was sleeping in the next room. I ran ou tof the house in fear for my life. Shortly after, the father left the house too, not knowing I had run out. I called the police and when they arrived, my daughter was asleep in the home alone. I was then charged with child neglect while the father was nowhere to be found. My daughter was placed in the custody of my parents. We(parents of child) have a custofy/dependency hearing soon, and I want her father to get custody of her while we take the classes they will assign for us. Is he eligible to receive temporary custody whie we resolve this case?

Re: Custody/child dependency

It's up to the judge to determine whether, after trying to kill the mother of the child in question, the father can be considered a "fit" parent, temporarily or otherwise. My guess is that it will be a "no."
