Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

D I need a second court order to recieve Retirement benefits?

When we were divorced I was awarded 20% of my ex-husbands retirement. I have a court order to this effect. Now that my ex is retiring, the clerk of courts is telling me I need another court order to start my benefits. I would think that the original order would be enough.

I don't see why another court order is needed yet.

Serve a copy of the order on the Company paying out the pension. If they refuse to pay, you will then need a court order directing them to pay you. You can contact me then.
