Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am dating a woman who IS divorced, and since I started dating her, her ex is hostile towards her and wants to take her to court to re-negotiate the divorce settlement, take her house and her children from her for full custody, all becasue she\'s dating me. He is claiming child neglect. Does he have a case. Also, he has somehow looked into my backround and found out that I had some trouble with the law, 15 years ago, and is trying to use that against her. Does he have the right to invade my privacy, by checking into my past?\n\nThank you.

Once a divorce is closed, it can't be reopened except as to actions regarding child visitation, custody, support, etc., actions to modify alimony, or some violations of a judgment or settlement.

If your girlfriend is accused of neglect or if he claims to have evidence of neglect, he can reopen the case as to the kids. Your background may be relative to the kids, so he is allowed to investigate it.
