Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My daughter ex husband appealed the Florida divorce court's decision. He appealed the decision and the court ruled in my daughter's favor; however, did not rule on his request to have her pay his attorney fees. She was notified that she has to appear at a Case Management hearing . What happens at a Case Management hearing and does she need an attorney present?
1 Answer from Attorneys
At a case management hearing, the Court determines whether or not the parties are ready to proceed with setting a trial date, where they are regarding outstanding discovery, financial affidavits compliance. If the parties are ready to proceed forward, the Court typically sets the case for trial at that time, not at that time specifically, but coordinates a trial setting at that time. As with all court dates, an attorney is highly recommended.
