Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My daughter is 19 and just recently her ex-boyfriend had child support papers served to her. She is living with me and she doesn't have employment as of yet.
The Court hearing is 2/17/2010. Should I have a Lawyer present at this 1st meeting in court?
I can't afford a lawyer. Is she able to ask for free public legal representation ?
Thanks You

From what you're stating it appears she may qualify for legal aid. You should look into that option. It's always best to have an attorney present.
Does she have the child or does he? If he has custody of the child, then she is responsible for child support. I suggest you attend the hearing and bring your financial records with you to show what her income is. She will have to pay something. Be sure to ask for visitation rights.
