Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

My daughters dad has been out of the picture for almost 5 years now, we have no idea where he is or anything. We were never married, but I am wanting to change her name can I do this without his permission? I would also like to know about possibly having his rights terminated. Thank you very much for any help that you may be able to give me.

You can have his rights terminated and then change her name.
