Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

delingwish parental rights

I live in Floida. If I delingwish my parental rights to my 2 children, that live in Tennessee and I haven't seen them hardly at all, If I did this, would that keep me from being obligated from paying child support? I have paid for years, is taking 60% of my salary and am basically not coming home enough to survive. Please advise on how to go about this.

Thank you.

Re: delingwish parental rights

TN should have jurisdiction, unless Florida ordered the child support, so you may need to look at TN law. In FL, you can't give up your parental rights just to avoid child support. There has to be an adoption or some other reason why you are deemed an unfit parent.
