Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Designating Guardianship for Minor Children

My husband and I are having difficulty selecting a guardian for our two minor children in the event of our simultaneous deaths. We have a very small extended family and only one couple outside the family who we could consider. Our designee of choice has begged off. Can you offer any advice in this regard?

Re: Designating Guardianship for Minor Children

Being a guardian for someone is a huge responsibility. However, if you and your husband were to pass away do you really think that your family would allow your chidren, their family, to go into a foster home? You can not force someone to be a guardian so you did what you could and asked around. Since no one is willing to step forward at this time, there is not much that you can do.
