Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Disabled

I am disabled and my spouse supports me. The ex's attorney is going after me for contempt attonery fee's and is saying because my spouse supports me my spouse has to pay this or I will go to jail. And now He is forceing me to provide me with my spouses w-2 to prove that my spouse can pay this to keep me out of jail. Can he do this?

Has a Judge ordered you to provide your spouse's W-2? If your spouse was not a party to the original lawsuit, I don't see what your spouse has to do with it. That being said, the judge may hold a hearing on the contempt. You would need to be prepared to tell the judge how you support yourself, what your disability is, and your general inability to pay. The judge can certainly find you in contempt of court if he finds that you have the ability to pay, but are not paying. But that has nothing to do with your spouse's employment.
