Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
In my dissolution of marriage papers, the Petitioner received as her sole property one of our animals that we owed a debt on. The affidavit states “Petitioner shall assume any and all indebtedness associated with this item of personal property and shall indemnify and hold harmless the respondent for payment of the same.” Is the Respondent therefore responsible for the payment of the Petitioners debt?

No. Both are still responsible for debt. If Respondent pays, Petitioner must reimburse.
