Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

distribution of ashes

There is a division about the distribution of a mother's ashes among a family of 7 children (all over 18yrs.). What is Florida's case law on this and what rights do the children have. One set wants to get all the ashes and not allow the others to get any.

Thank you in advance for an answer.

Re: distribution of ashes

If the will does not designate who gets the ashes, or a will was not prepared, a Probate action would need to be filed so a Court could determine how the ashes are distrubted. You will need to contact a Probate attorney.
