distribution of assets
I am seperated from my husband 1 year. We own a home he lives in. I am paying rent. I want to know if there is some way I can buy a home that he will not have any claim to it before the divorce is final.

Anything that you purchase after the divorce is filed can be considered your separate property. The practical considerations involve financing...you continue to be liable for the mortgage note on the house he occupies and he
must join you in signing the new mortgage for
your new purchase. Both render it unlikely for
you to finance a new purchase. Why dont you ge
t a lawyer and get your divorce?
