Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce

I am contemplating divorce, but in a difficult situation, we have a business together, I am president he is Vice President. How would I be able to get my half out of business with me stepping out? We have only had it a year with not enough profit yet to sell my half?

Thank you

Re: Divorce

There are several ways you could do this. Assuming you want out, he could buy you out of your half with cash (from a loan or other). Or, he could agree to give up some other asset(s) in exchange for your half. Or, you can try to sell the business and split the proceeds; but, if it's new and not profitable, that might be difficult. Basically, whatever the two of you decide and agree on is valid. If you don't agree on what to do, the court may order either one of the above options.
