Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Is divorce decree still valid?

When I divorced my husband in 2006, he was ordered to pay child support, we were granted shared parental responsibility however I was granted primary residential parent of our child. Also, due to my husband's abandonment, he had to petition the courts in Florida for visitation. Early 2008, my husband and I reconciled and married again (a decision I regret). He's abandoned us again in Oct. 2008 (do not know his whereabouts/ no contact) with him not petitioning the courts to amend the 2006 divorce decree. My question is, when we married again, is all custody and child support issues still valid? Or must I petition the FL courts again?

You have to petition again. When you remarried, child support stopped (though he still owed you any support he was behind on) and all other things that were ordered before, including custody, were erased. You'll have to put everything in your new divorce petition as if the first divorce judgment had never happened.
