Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorce in florida

I am filing for Divorce Pro-Se. Haven't seen my husband in 3 years and don't know where to locate him. Last know address in Ohio, sent process server and no one will answer the door. He was just released from prison last year for domestic violence against me and other charges. Can i still get a divorce pro-se without finding him. Will they give me a court date after i have made all attempts to find him?

Re: Divorce in florida

As long as you've made "all attempts" to find him (there is a list of things you have to do in the forms you can download or purchase from the clerk), you can serve by publication, which means you can file a specifically-worded notice of your divorce in the newspaper. After you publish in the newspaper, you can get your court date.
