what are some general questions to ask a lawyer when going through a divorce?

The attorney should go through the P-E-A-C-E- acronym with you and talk to you about Primary residential care (custody), Equitable distribution (of property), Alimony, Child support, and Everything else. You and your attorney should sign a fee agreement and you should tell your attorney what your desired goals are in general and about the 5 topics above.
