Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

After my divorce, I was granted custody and child support is 2004, The ex wife made a few payments, then stopped. In 2010 I asked the court to forgive the arrears and take one child off the amount owed because he was 18 in 2 months. The new lower amount was also not paid and she is in arrears 8700 dollars right now. I filed the paperwork with child support enforcement but they closed my case because my youngest turned 18 a year and a half ago... can I still get the arrears? My worry is that I was court ordered to sell my house when the remaining child reached 18 (2014) but the house was a wreck and I had to do extensive repairs and was only able to sell the house on July 19, 2016... two years late. Am I also in contempt?

Probably not. The market has not been great and with the receipts of what had to be done to get the property sold, I believe you will be fine.

You can still get the arrears, hire a private attorney.
