Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I would like to divorce my husband. I am a Florida resident. My husband just moved to California but is still a Florida resident. I am also planning on moving to Los Angeles within the next 2 months. If I file for divorce in Florida, will the jurisdiction change to California when I move?

No, but it may be easier to do it when you get to CA depending on resident requirements.
You can either file now in FL or wait then file in CA after you (or he) live there 6 months. Contact my office for free consultation 727-446-7659
Not necessarily. You can file here now and if the case is uncontested wrap it up within the two month window before your move. If contested (no agreement on all the issues) then it is perhaps best to acquire the necessary jurisdiction in California and file there.

Ms. Hall is correct. Please note also if you have assets that you are going after - you might check with an attorney in California to see if it would be more advantageous for you there under their laws than in Florida.
