Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

divorce laws in Florida

How long does it take for an uncontested divorce, and what paperwork is involved? Does this paperwork have to be notarized? I am a military member staioned in DC and my husband is in Florida. Also, if I want to remarry, how long after the final divorce would I have to wait?

Re: divorce laws in Florida

If there are no children, and both parties agree to all of the issues, then it would be less then 30 days. If there are children, it would take longer since financial disclosure would be required. There is no waiting period to re-marry once you are divorced. If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Melody Stickel-Martinez, Esq.
