Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Right after my divorce I lost my job, I did not have any money coming in, so I could not pay child support. Just got back to work after 7 months. Now with my current pay there is no way I can catch up with support by the end of the year. My ex wife and I get to claim our child every other year . She told me that I could not claim my child on my 2012 returns if I was not current and up to date with support. What can I do
