Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

In my divorce papers, it states that if an agreement cannot be reached between my son's father and myself in regards to educational, religious and medical decisions - then I have the final say.

On one occasion my ex refused to take my son to school while I was away on vacation because he said he didn't have the gas money to take him. A few weeks ago, he signed my son out early from school when I told him not to, so he could "beat the traffic" for the weekend.

The school tells me that if my son misses too many days of school that they''ll call Child Services on ME for the truancy. The school also tells me that they are required to allow the father to sign his son out, unless they have a court document in his file. Would a copy of the divorce paperwork -as well as my affidavit stating that my son isn't to be withdrawn early from school without my consent, be enough to keep him from causing my son to miss school without my permission?

I am surprized about the school. Go by and talk with the principal and find out what they require. I suggest you file a Motion to Modify your child custody arrangements and set a hearing . You could also file a contempt/enforcement so that the father will comply with what is already in place.
