Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am trying to get a divorce and I'm not sure if my wife will sign the papers she has already canceled one time and someone told me to put an ad in the paper. So I was just wondering if I could put an ad in the paper so that if she doesn't sign the papers the divorce will be final.

No. Putting an ad in the paper does nothing. File the divorce papers, have her sued and get the divorce from the court.

You can't put an ad in the paper (which is serving her by publication) when you know where she is. You can only divorce your spouse by publication when you don't know where your spouse is. And, if you lie about it, not only could your divorce be set aside, you could be subject to perjury. If your wife won't sign, you'll have to do a contested divorce rather than an uncontested divorce. The forms for contested divorces are online or can be purchased from the clerk just like the forms for an uncontested divorce, but a contested divorce can be considerably more complicated, so you may want to speak with a lawyer.

File the papers in court. Have her served by the Sheriff. If she does not respond, then file for divorce by default.
