I am considering divorce after 28 years of marriage with my wife. I have consulted to an attorney and was told the divorce itself is simple and can be done with ease. We have a house with an equity approximately $100,000. 3 children are over 21-year-old. We have no other assets, no savings except a tons of my wife`s toys. I am an unemployed right now. The question is I just want to divorce her, I do not need anything including the house. My wife looks healthy and be able to sustain normal living including driving vehicle, however, she is a S.S. Disabled person. Can I divorce her easily even though I presume she cannot afford to pay the mortgage payment?

Well that depends on whether you two are able to come to an agreement. The equity could be considered lump sum almimony, but she may fight for more. Because she is SSD, she has a chance of getting permanent alimony.
