Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Divorced in Mississipi I live in Oregon my son lives in Florida

I was divorced in Misssissippi, I live in Oregon my Ex and my 9 year old son live in Florida.. I pay my child support to Oregon who in turns pays it to MS and they forward to my Ex-wife..

2 years ago my employer received a court order to increase my child support from 300 to 500 dollars.. My divorce decree states 300. I called Oregon they referred me to MS and they stated she filed to have it increased.. I never received any notification of this or paperwork to fill out.. I payed it.

I was notified by MS. 3 months ago stating I can request to have my support re-evaluated and that they do this every 2 years.. I sent in writing a request to have my support evaluated the very next day and have not heard anything from them..

I call and never get return calls, When I inform them Im calling from Oregon it's like they blow me off and tell me someone will return a call..

Why should I even be dealing with MS.? She has lived in Florida for 2 years.. I am also considering a custody case after things I have heard from my son who visited this summer.. What state do I need to retain an attorney in?

You need to hire a lawyer is MS. From what you have described, it is doubtful (or at least questionable) that MS any longer has "modification jurisdiction" over an obligor who is no longer a resident of that state.
