Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I got divorced and part of the agreement was to release him from child support payments and all parental rights if he paid for current husband to adopt, he didn't finish paying his lawyer so he wouldn't push the final paperwork thru the court. Now my child is of legal age to drive and does not want last name on legal documents, what should I do?

Change the last name. Not a problem.

Well, a little bit of a problem, despite what Mr. Wagner said. Maybe he didn't understand your question. Maybe he read "legal age" but didn't see the "to drive" part. You can't change your son's last name without his father's permission, although your son can change his own last name when he turns 18. If you file a petition to change your son's last name, you'll have to serve his father with the paperwork.
