Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I was divorced in 1992 & had physical custody of my two sons. One was 15 at the time & the other was 11. My ex was a dead-beat dad & never paid child support. I had always supported the family; so I was better off without his mouth to feed; along with all his family. He ran out of state & still never paid. I have recently heard that he's remarried & again living in NJ; where the divorce took place. I've heard that his new wife has inherited a home from her parents. He still owes me the money he never paid; correct?

Is there a way to put a lien on their home? There's no contact between him & my Sons; who're now 36 & 32. It's sad that it has always been his lose. I did catch up with him once in Ohio & got 135; after which he quit his job & moved again & the judge put him in jail once & I got 350; that his girlfriend took from her husband to get him out. She's his new wife. I'd have to dig out the papers; but I know he owes thousands. Is there anything I can do now; after so many years? I am now disabled with CRPS.

Assuming there is an existing arrears with the clerk of the court then you can attempt to collect. Contact my office for free consultation 727-446-7659.

YOU need to file suit to collect (that is, if your papers stated you were to receive support) and you have the records to show that there is no support paid. YOu can not sue his new wife for her house - that is her inheritance. However, if she has refinanced the house and included his name in the financial papers - then there is a chance you can request to have the house sold and the proceeds paid to you for back support. You really need to speak with an attorney about your options. If I can be of assistance, please contact my office for an appointment.
